Does PCQuikFix repair the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD)?

Yes! The "Yellow Light of Death" or "YLOD" is perhaps one of the largest issues we see with the Playstation 3.

Symptoms of the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD):

When your Playstation 3 is turned on, the light turns green and the system begins to power up. Then the system suddenly beeps and the light turns yellow briefly followed by the light flashing red until the unit is turned of.

What causes the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD)?

The rapid heating and cooling of your Playstation 3 causes the Yellow Light of Death. The CPU and GPU are connected to the motherboard with many tiny soldering balls, and with the unit heating and cooling so rapidly, the motherboard warps causing these balls crack and separate the CPU and GPU from the motherboard.

My Playstation 3 cannot read games:

The most common reasons your Playstation 3 is unable to read games or movies may be due in part to your laser burning out or having a faulty deck.

I have pictures and trophies saved on my hard drive, will this data be deleted during my PS3 repair?

Unless the repair is hard drive related (which laser repairs and the YLOD repairs are not), your information will stay in tact.
